We Don't Have a Boardroom.
We Have a Court.
NSW Handball is run by players, for players.
Weβre a crew of fans, parents, players, referees and coaches who are volunteering our time to grow the sport across the state.
What We Actually Do
The NSW Handball Association (NSWHA) is the grassroots engine room for the sport in this state.
We exist to organise the NSW State League, support our local clubs, train referees, and get handballs into high schools.
Our goal is to make sure that whether youβre a seasoned European expat or a local teenager looking for a new sport, you have a court to play on and a team to call your own.
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." β Winston Churchill
Born from the Games
Australian Handball had its biggest moment under the bright lights of the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
Decades later, we are incredibly proud to still call the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Halls our home and legacy venue.
We are the custodians of that Olympic spirit in NSW, and weβre working hard to build the next generation of athletes for Brisbane 2032.

Our Values
Inclusivity & Accessibility
Handball is for everyone.
Fostering a welcoming, safe, and diverse environment that encourages participation across all ages, genders, backgrounds, and skill levels, from schoolyard beginners to elite competitors across New South Wales.
Integrity & Fair Play
Doing the right thing, on and off the court.
Upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship, honesty, and transparency. This means respecting the rules of the game and ensuring fair, ethical governance within the association.
Community & Teamwork
We are stronger together.
Recognizing that the sport relies on a dedicated network of players, coaches, referees, administrators, and volunteers. We value collaboration and work to build a deeply connected "handball family" that supports one another.
Excellence & Growth
Striving for our best and growing the game.
Committing to the continuous development of the sport. This involves nurturing talent, providing clear pathways from grassroots to high performance, and constantly improving the association's programs and coaching standards.
Respect
Honoring the game and its people.
Treating teammates, opponents, officials, and spectators with dignity. It means valuing the time and effort of volunteers and maintaining a culture where everyone feels heard and appreciated.
Driven by a love for handball.
Bringing energy and enthusiasm to the promotion and sustainability of the sport. Itβs the dedication to seeing handball thrive in NSW today and for future generations.
